Re-Leather: Texture, renewed

Recycled content meets a diversity of grains. Beginning with the details of a surface, Re-Leather explores another way for materials to become part of everyday life.

A material’s character often lies in its quietest details. A smooth surface, the fine relief of nappa grain, the more defined texture of pebbled grain: each reveals a different depth as light passes across it. Re-Leather brings recycled content into these familiar surfaces, placing material choices within the design conversation.

Grain changes more than appearance. A fine, even texture lends clarity to a silhouette; a more pronounced surface gives the same form a different rhythm. Across the corner of a bag, the curve of a shoe or the broad plane of a seat, one grain can take on very different expressions. Detail becomes part of the design itself.

Color leaves room for further variation. Darker shades reveal grain gradually through light and shadow, while lighter tones make its relief more apparent. A material reads differently when laid flat or curved, seen close up or across a room. It is both the surface of an object and a means of giving that object visual order.

Within Re-Leather, recycled content finds expression through color, grain and form. The GRS series brings different surfaces into the same conversation, from restrained smooth finishes to more expressive textures. Materials enter a new object, familiar details take on another character, and the story continues in everyday life.
